Nature of the information

DomainSpoof shows third-party reports alongside its own company matches. Coverage is limited. Findings cannot establish a company’s overall security, and missing findings do not establish safety.

Acceptable use

Public pages may be used for research, defensive security and journalism. Follow the source attribution and redistribution terms on the Sources page.

Registration data from zone files

Some lookalike listings come from registry zone files we receive through ICANN’s Centralized Zone Data Service (CZDS). Each shows a domain we matched to a brand and a date. For a new registration, it is the day a registry’s zone file first listed it. For a domain registered earlier, it is the day we first found it in a zone file.

You may use these listings lawfully, for defensive security, research and journalism. You may not use them, or allow, enable or support anyone else’s use of them, for:

  • any marketing purpose, including marketing, advertising or solicitations in any medium (email, phone, fax, post, SMS, wireless alerts) and building marketing or prospect lists;
  • high-volume automated processes that send queries or data to the systems of a registry operator or an ICANN-accredited registrar;
  • harassing, annoying, interrupting, disrupting or interfering with a registrant or a registrant’s normal business operations;
  • collecting or extracting a substantial portion of these listings.

These conditions carry over the registry operators’ zone file terms. If you pass these listings on, pass these conditions on with them.
